What to submit: Threadcount accepts original and previously unpublished works of prose, poetry, fiction, nonfiction, and hybrid text, but we prefer writing that resists such classifications. Primarily we focus on hybrid works between prose poetry and flash fiction. We are not currently accepting mixed-media or multimedia projects. Typically, we accept work with fewer than 1000 words though we will consider projects of a longer length. Please read some of the work we’ve published to get a sense of our tastes and tendencies before submitting.
When to submit: To help manage submissions and improve on our notoriously slow response time, we are now only accepting submissions during two reading periods: November 1-December 31 and May 1-June 30. Submissions received outside of the reading period will be returned unread.
How to submit: Please send your work via email to firstname.lastname@example.org with your work both pasted in the body of the e-mail AND attached as either a .pdf or .doc (whichever best supports your formatting). Include the word submission in the subject line of the email. Please send no more than 5 short pieces at a time in a single submission. Simultaneous submissions are allowed. Please wait to hear back from us before submitting again.
Publication rights: All rights reserved. Rights revert to author upon publication.
Payment: Writers accepted for publication receive $25.
Thanks for letting us read your work.
